What's
in Store for 2006? Attempting
to make predictions about anything can be a formidable task, but especially when
dealing with a country the size of the USA. There are a variety of charts that
can be used; transits to the Natal chart, Solar Return chart, Progressed chart
and Ingress charts. For the purpose of this article an Ingress chart will be used.
Ingress charts are charts calculated for when the Sun moves into any one of the
four seasons (Aries=Spring, Cancer=Summer, Libra=Fall and Capricorn=Winter). So
for all practical purposes one could be looking at four different charts over
the course of a year. Classical astrology however gives more weight and credibility
to the Capricorn (Winter) Ingress chart and particularly if the chart erected
has a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio & Aquarius) for the Ascendant. It was
thought that this chart was then in effect for the whole year. The other thing
important to Ingress charts is that you have the location for the chart for the
locality one wishes to look at. In the case of a country it would be the capitol
city in this case Washington, DC So
erecting the Capricorn Ingress chart for Washington, D. C. gives us the date of
December 21st 2005 at 1:34 PM (EST). The first thing that is obvious is that this
chart has Taurus as the sign of the Ascendant. So since Taurus is a fixed sign
we know the chart is good for the entire year of 2006. Therefore there is no need
to create additional Ingress charts for the other seasons. The degree of Taurus
rising or ascending is 5 degrees and 06 minutes. If we round this degree up, which
is always done when wanting a whole number to check the meaning of a degree, we
have 6 degrees of Taurus. There are many texts out there which give the meaning
of the degrees of the zodiac. What do we find for 6 degrees Taurus? 1)
"Cantilever bridge across a deep gorge." Dane Rudhyar in "An
Astrological Mandala" 2)
"A large elliptical figure on the ground, and a man standing upright within."
Charubel in "The Degrees of the Zodiac Symbolized" 3)
"A man in the prime of life stands on a dais, holding in his right hand a
scroll of papers; upon his head is a laurel wreath." Translation of Charubel
by Sepharial from "La Volasfera" 4)
"A bridge being built across a high narrow gorge." Lynda Hill in
"360 Degrees of Wisdom" Interpretations
of this degrees' symbol could mean: Breaking down barriers, linking to things
together, fear of or creating separation, spanning the gulfs between two thing
or the conquest of separatism through group efforts. The
planetary ruler of Taurus is Venus and we find her Aquarius at 1 degree and 20
minutes in the 10th house of the Capricorn Ingress chart. The symbol for 2 degrees
of Aquarius (remember to round up) is as follows: "An unexpected thunderstorm."
Dane Rudhyar in "An Astrological Mandala" This
could or might mean a need to develop inner security and prepare for unexpected
crisis. Something out of the blue, confronting or overwhelming occurs, somewhat
frightening and unnerving. Loud bangs and crashes that shock and stun. Lynda Hill
in "360 Degrees of Wisdom" The
next thing that is very prominent and apparent to us is the fact that Mars (god
of war and action) is in the first house of the chart and rising towards the Ascendant.
The first house stands for the populace or people of the area or country. With
Mars there a threat exists towards the people. Mars is in the sign of Taurus where
he is not the happiest and can be very destructive at times. Mars rules the signs
of Aries and Scorpio. We find Aries (initiates action, dynamic, rash, throws the
first punch, forceful) intercepted (wedged between the two signs on either side
and not on a house cusp) in the 12th house (hidden enemies, self undoing, secrets,
terrorists). When signs are intercepted there is something not apparent or hidden,
it must wait to act or become realized. We only find out what that is or how it
works halfway through the life of the chart when that energy is released and becomes
available. For the Capricorn Ingress chart (good for a year) that would be at
about 6 months or June 2006. Scorpio (intense, subversive, inquisitive, confrontational,
jealousy, resentful), Mars' other sign is on the 7th house (open enemies, allies,
the other). Given
the information so far it looks highly likely that we may have another major terrorist
attack on American soil ( like on a bridge or dam?) or someone might make an attempt
on President Bush's life (noting the connections to Venus in the 10th house of
President and she is conjunct Chiron). Jupiter
(inflation, protection, bigger than life, exaggerating, blatant) is sitting in
the 7th house which belongs to Mars. So this could mean that some plot is uncovered
and prevented or so it seems in order to throw off attention from what is really
going on or being planned from the 12th house. Another
old or classical technique in Astrology is to check a chart and see if any planet
is found at the same degree as the Nodes of the Moon (North and South Nodes).
In this Ingress chart the North Node is at 9 degrees and 44 minutes of Aries which
is a sign that Mars rules. The South Node is at 9 degrees and 44 minutes of Libra
which Venus rules and she is the chart ruler since she also rules Taurus (Sign
of the Ascendant). Combine this to Mars, also at 9 degrees and 05 minutes but
of Taurus and we can end up with a potentially volatile situation. Of further
significance is that the North Node is in the 12th house (secrets, hidden activity).
We normally equate the North Node with some sort of benefit (of the nature of
Jupiter), however sometimes the benefit provided just makes something much easier
to accomplish or carry out. The South Node then lies across from the North Node
in the 6th house (military, industry and health). The South Node (of the nature
of Saturn) is usually considered more malevolent, uncomfortable and with a lesson
to be learned. When a planet is at the same degree as the Nodes it makes the nature
of that planet more extreme and somewhat fated. All matters of trials and tribulations
associated with the nature of the planet come into play. As previously mentioned
Mars is about will, determination, aggression and war. It appears from the chart,
particularly with Jupiter's prominence, that there should once again be some sort
of warning. Hopefully those who get this warning or heads up will heed it this
time around. Finally
we have the Moon in Virgo opposite Uranus in Pisces. The Moon represents security,
safety, property and may be seen as the secondary significator of the people or
populace. Uranus represents excitement, unexpected things and insight even though
it is a bit erratic. Being in opposition to one another means they are competing
or bumping heads. One or the other acts upon the other. This could be another
hintor clue about something unknown suddenly happening that nobody anticipated.
